Uversity, a new postgraduate creative arts institute recently announced details of their 2015/2016 Creative Impact Scholarship.
Not your typical institution, Uversity is unique in that it is founded by 24 of Ireland’s leading colleges, universities and institutes of technology. This unprecedented collaborative relationship has allowed for huge advancements in creative education and offers students a level of choice found nowhere else in the world.
This 12 month long programme offers students the chance to design their own programme from 100’s of modules offered by each partner institution in 8 different categories: Art and Design, Cinema and Broadcast Arts, Creative Cultural Industries, Creative Technologies, Creative Writing, Dance, Drama and Theatre Studies, Literature, Arts and Culture and Music.
Rather than being restricted to any one campus or subject area, students are encouraged to design a programme that is unique to their own creative needs. The yearlong 90 credit programme consists of three major elements:
• Core Modules : Study the two modules that form the cornerstone of the programme (10 credits)
• Elective Modules: Choose modules from the host institutions for Autumn and Spring Semester (50 credits between 2 semesters)
• Creative Project: Spend the Summer Semester in a host institution of your choice working on a major research or practice-based project to demonstrate your learning and development as a creative practitioner. (30 Credits)
Each student is assigned a personal mentor that provides support and guidance throughout the year. The mentor aids in identifying the student’s personal learning objectives and seeks to maximise the student’s learning and creative development.
The Creative Impact Scholarship seeks to attract exceptional graduates with the potential to make a creative difference in their future careers. The deadline for applications is April 10th 2015 and the programme commences in September 2015.
Upon completion of the programme, students are awarded a Master of Arts in Creative Process from the National University of Ireland.
